I called Tampa Electric on 06-24-10 around 5:30 in the evening my father had called and informed me that the power had been shut off. Tampa Electric had not sent me a paper bill in about a month in a half. I attempted to call them on Tuesdays on lunch hour but could not wait on hold. On Thursday the power had been shut off in speaking to the rep they had been sending my statements by e-bill which I did not receive either. I did not request an ebill the rep told me it was done automatically by the company and he became very argumentive while I was trying to explain I never received the ebills. I even advised him that I had no problem taking care of the bill over the phone right then but needed the power the come back on right away had an elderly grandparent using a breathing machine and I had sent a medical form. He advised me Tampa Electric did not have the form instead of trying to listen to what I was saying he said to me you now have 7 minutes to pay yor bill through the vru and if you do not get back to a rep you will not have power until the next day. I begged this rep to just help me make the payment while I was on with him that there was no way if he transfered me to the vru I would make the payment before closing so I could get the power back on that evening. I told him that I was wearing a brace even on my right hand he had no sympathy just told me mam there's nothing I can do. I was transfered to the vru and I tried to make the payment as fast as I could when I called back the office of curse it was closed. I made the payment around 5:50 according to Teco it posted 8:00 on the same day 06-24. I got home my grandmother 91 with breathing problems was having trouble breathing it was hot and miserable. My father arrived 2 hours later he had been to the Temple Terrace police department the officer reached someoone who again was unwilling to assist. I had to pack an over night bag for myself and my grandmother who is also handicapped in a wheelchair and check into a hotel. I had nowhere else to go because of Teco mean while my grandmother was sitting in a vehicle while I was trying to get checked in the first hotel had no vacancies finally got to the second one and she waiting in the car not being able to be hooked up to her breathing device. Finally we get checked in and the accomodations was not suitable for handicapped person she sat up all night sleeping in her wheelchair. I was promised power would be restored by the next morning I had to go to work left my father and grandmother in the hotel but they had to check out at 11:00 am they came back home and still no power and my father went to Temple Terrace police again and they made a suggestion to get a copy of the medical letter and my father went to the Dr's office and he had the copy of what had been sent to Teco. My dad decided to go to the office where we reside and gave them a copy of the medical and they called teco advised to turn the power back. I had been calling myself from work and was getting nowhere. The only reason my power was put back on is because of the office Teco was taking their sweet time and they ignored the medical form everything. All the reps are rude unsympathetic, uncaring and my stepmother called and she was hung up on. My power was off for 25 hrs power was not restoreduntil 3pm. We have witnesses from temple terrace and the office at my apt complex. I want everyone to know what kind of company teco really is.
