No payment reminder email and late fee charged

I am a new customer and was told I would receive an email reminder of the payment due; I did not; when I visited the store I was told by the mgr, Rich, that he had entered an incorrect address;when I paid the bill he charged me a late fee, sarcastically telling me it was my responsibility to know the due date
