On 5/29/10 my family went out shopping to find some comfortable outdoor furniture for my dad that has cancer and can not leave the house. We finally ended up at target in plainville and he picked out a set that everyone liked. We then found out they were out of stock on some of the peices but to get the sale price we would need to buy them that weekend. So they called around and found that the smithfield store had some in stock, so we asked if they could hold them while we drove down there and the answer was no. We then drove the 45 mins to the store and we were told by 2 employees that they didnt even have that product in the store. After another hour of talking with different employees one of them finally got the brillant idea to go look in the back and there was the set we were looking for. We then cashed out spending almost $800 and went home to put everything together. My husband and i were on the last love seat when we realized it was broken so we called the plainville store to see if they had any and they said yes so we explained what had happened and they still said that they do not hold product so at 8:00pm at night drove back up there to return the love seat. And guess what, they didnt have any! We only live 10 mins from there. So after talking to all of management there they finally found one in the seekonk store and they actually held one for us!!! So after about 12 hours of driving around 2 tanks of gas later all i was told from management was we sorry that happend. This is the second time i have had horrible service at target and next time i will drive accross the street to walmart and do my shopping there. If my dad wasnt dying of cancer i would have packed up everything and returned the entire set. But by that time my parents were so tired and upset i bit my tounge and kept my mouth shout. I myself work in retail for 15 years now and tuesday in our confrence call with every manager in the region you beat i told them of my experience so show as an example of what NOT to do!!! Something needs to be done about this!!! Or i will pack everything up and return it! Im done with target at this point
