We have been victims of fraudulent loan modification scam. We are facing financial hardship due to job loss. We have requested our lender and frustrated with the several calls and requests made to the lender to help refinance or modify our loan. Help Modify Now has taken advantage of our situation. Help modify now guaranteed us a loan modifcation within 90 days and because of their long established relationship with the bank they could definitely work through our bank and get us a loan modification. They also said they had a 97% success rate. We were so frustrated and afraid of loosing our home, so we agreed for their services. They charged us $2,600.00 in two installments. They did not take credit card rather they wanted cheque. It has been 4 months now with living in stress because we never got a direct answer on our status, and now we can not get in touch with anyone. We sent a letter to them asking their reply and status in a certified mail with return receipt but the letter was returned to us. Not sure they closed their office there and moved to another site? We leave messages (many) no returned calls. Does anyone know where I can go to get help? How can we get our money back? We are facing financial hardship due to job loss, frustrated and on top of that it's a shame that these kind of companies steal our money assuring the things to get done.
