Not realizing this would be the biggest mistake of my life. I found Florida Metropolitan University on a TV commercial. When I went to the Admissions Dept. I expressed to them my interest in becoming a nurse and they persuaded me to enter their Medical Assistant Program because LPN where being "faced out" and a RN degree would just take too long to obtain. They specifically said if later on I wanted to continue my studies I would not have any problems since the school was an university. I realize I failed to do any kind of research and trusted what I was being told. But I believed. I applied and attended their school. I worked full time during the day and went to school at night was able to graduate with a Associate in Science, Medical Assisting Summa Cum Laude in July. Let me mention my approx $26,000 in student loans which I have not been able to pay off.
