I took advantage of an on-line offer to subscribe to high speed internet service with the option to return all materials within a month if not satisfied and owe nothing. I got the materials in the mail but after installing the equipment found that it did not work. For some reason, I could not get an internet connection. I called technical support to try to resolve the problem, but nothing worked. I then chose to return the equipment and thought that would be the end of it. I later received correspondence stating that I owed money, which I disputed. And, therefore, refused to pay. I later received correspondence from a collection agency to whom I again stated "I owe no money." Correspondence ceased, yesterday I received correspondence, once again from an agency requesting money for the sum of $159.97. If I had used the service, I would understand but I was never able to use it. They are threatening a judgment for payment. What are my rights? I intend to dispute this action.
