The heater worked fine during cold months. Oct. 2009 would only start by taking outside to lower ambient temp. Dec. 2009 buttons on heater would not work. Jan. 2010 heater quit altogether. I had called company twice for consultation on starting heater and regulating the heat pump to lower temps. The electric bill increased and never saved any money. Then in re-reading the advertising, I found that the savings was applied to gas or oil heating savings not electricity. (Mis-info #1). The manual never gave instructions how to use and coordinate timer buttons. I was never sure I had set buttons properly. (Mis-info #2.)
The heater worked generally well and a difference is noticed in the comfortability in the most used room now. The warmth is not even. Cold spots around the room in corners and in remote spots behind furniture. Credit to the stove for alleviating that discomfort.
My complaint is that many other customers seem to be having the same problem with no recourse. I would join a class action suit for remedial compensation to fix or replace at nominal cost.
I was told to send back at my expense. They would fix or replace at my expense. For that I have no recourse since the heater is out-of-warranty.
But a better solution from what I'm finding is to buy a heater for less than $75 at WalMart or Lowes that will do as good a job of heating despite iHeater's claim that any other heater will not heat the whole room as consistently as an iHeater.
For $279 and 13 months to fail the iHeater was an expensive waste of money.
