The Career Network
The Internet-Company, Make $225-$400 a week from home!

I just read a report on this company posted a few days ago and it sounded so identical to mine that I had to say something. I received an email saying my online resume was seen by someone at "careernetwork.com" and that I was a great candidate for a job that sounded right up my alley. It didn't sound too good to be true, so I clicked on the link and it brought me to the Career Network site and asked for a bunch of irrelevant information (specifically, if I was interested in furthering my education, even though I have a Doctorate clearly posted on my resume). When I clicked no, it still asked for more info that was already on my resume, so I didn't fill it out. Eventually, I was "selected" for a telephone interview and was told to call a long distance phone number the following day for a group interview. I was bit suspicious that it wasn't an 800 or toll free number. Bit I called anyway. The number is (512) 879-2211 and my "access" code was 561081#.

So I followed the instructions and waited on hold for several minutes while we "waited for everyone else to phone in". Dave, the voice of the company, which was a prerecorded voice, would come back on every minute or 2 and say he's just about ready. This alone makes me think that they are somehow racking up fees just be keeping you on the phone, but I don't know how they do that. Then recorded Dave (who sounds like everyone's best buddy) comes on and directs you to a slide slow presentation with 74 slides! Most were completely ridiculous and obviously a time killer, but were meant to make you think this is a legit, super fun company that would become your family if you hung in there for 18 months like our buddy Dave (who's now like a VP of the company). I mean, they seriously show slides of the young employees playing company softball, drinking at happy hour, and feeding the homeless.

During this 1.5 hour pre-recorded call, he explains how they will email you job postings that need to get on to Craigslist, and all you do is rewrite them so that they sound professional, and post them onto Craigslist, and whenever someone clicks on the listing and selects "opt in" (where they ask about furthering our education), you get $0.25 per click. These can add up fast (after all, I opted in somehow, even though I said no to the education part). So you maintain a daily spreadsheet and email it to your supervisor (mine is [email protected]) and he'll let you know how many people have "opted in" and that way you can determine how much money you are making. Supposedly, a check will be mailed to you every other week. He also says there is tons of growth opportunity within the company, and that you can quickly be hired on full time (he only started 18 months ago!) and get health insurance, 401K, 2 or 3 weeks paid vacation/sick days, etc.

After all this info is given, they say someone will be contacting me to explain how to get started. I have not yet heard from anyone but am going to start emailing them to see what happens. This is obviously some kind of scam, but I don't quite know what the angle is... They haven't asked for a dime (yet) and the only thing I can think of is how they keep you on the phone for so long.
I will see what else I can find out and report back.
