The following sites are scams: MembershipEasy.com, eroticagateway.com, plverify, and meetsafer.com. If you are forwarded to one of these sites and they ask you to 'verify' yourself for 'free', WATCH OUT!!! Its a new internet scam going around recently. These sites claim you need to verify yourself to be safe, but there is nothing safe about them. They will take your card and your money and they will not cancel your account no matter what method you use. There is nothing safe about them. All they want is your credit card number so they can charge you every single month, and they will also sell your info to other 3rd parties. Anybody who contacts you from craigslist or elsewhere and says they have an account you need to join for free to 'verfiy yourself' is not being truthful.in reality, the person on the other side telling you to go verify yourself IS NOT A REAL PERSON, its the company itself trying to scam you or its an affiliate program where they get a commission for helping to defraud people. Flag them for fraud and move on. Once they have you cc # you are fully screwed. Your only recourse is to cancel your account and file a dispute through your cc company. The dispute may or may not be resolved. Either way you are going to lose a lot of money. Stay away from any of these sites.
These sites all have the Verisgn, TRUSTe and McAfee security badges on the page are all fake. And while the first page cheerfully tells you that this "screening" is 100% free the only piece of verifiable information they seem to require is your credit card number. Not only that but once you get past the first page you're told:
" After three days, your free three day trial membership will convert to a one month subscription at $39.30 USD that renews automatically every one month. If you do not want to enroll in our paid service, cancel your membership before the end of the trial period.
Auxillary sites - Additional access may be granted to Best Porn Library & XXX Video Vault. Sites renew independently at $37.19 & $39.97 respectively after three day no-charge trial period (s) every month until cancelled."
