They literally stole $100.00 of my unemployment check!

So, I went to a Shell gas station in Victorville, CA to get gas. I put my card in the pump as always and the pump asked me for my zip code, I entered it and it asked me for it again, so I entered it again, it asked me for it another time and I hit cancel on the pump and took my card as the pump was not obviously authorizing my transaction, and went inside to pay... I prepaid at the cashier for $20.00 in gas and told her what happened, she didnt say anything and I went on my way, the next day, my account had only14 cents in it out of $100.14, I called Chase and she said they put two holds on my card for prepay at the pump for gas. Two holds for $45.00 each. I told her the card was never authorized and I didnt even get the gas (except for the $20.00 that I paid inside that also was taken out of my account)... Mind you, I am on unemployment and my payments like millions of other Americans are automatically credited into this Chase card, as is my child support... There are stories all over the net of others this has happened to, They are ripping off unemployed Americans... Back to my story, I asked Chase customer service what to do and she said I had to call the gas company and have them fax over all this stuff to get the hold released. So I called Shell (Corporate and Business services) and they told me they didnt have anything to do with it that the bank is the one that does all the account holds, I called back Chase, they told me it would be 5 days to get the money back... They had basically stolen the money from my account without my authorization... I called another Chase number on the card and there was an automated message that if you have a hold on your account, that the merchant must fax over a request, blah, blah, blah... And if you have additional questions, leave your name and number and they will return your call... (I have left 4 messages and am still waiting for a return call) they obviously have a scam going and I am so upset that they are getting away with taking advantage of us unemployed Americans... Something needs to be done!
