RCI Management Company fails to return any and all contact after they receive your money. Scammers!

First and foremost, we have an unlisted telephone number and have had it unlisted for over 10 years. We try very hard to protect our privacy. We are on the National Do Not Call Registries for our home telephone and 4 cellular phones that we have. We hardly ever get phone calls from anyone that we havent given our number to directly. Some examples would include local doctors, dentists, hospital, schools, local banks and our employers. We trust that the people we give our telephone number to, will protect our right to privacy. Somewhere this must have been breached. We can only surmise that this breech happened through our timeshare.

Here is a brief history on our timeshare.

While vacationing in the Sol Melia Vacation Resort in Puerto Rico, we decided to purchase a vacation timeshare. This timeshare is in the RCI Network. This was in July.in July of we used our vacation timeshare to go to the Dominican Republic.in February we decided to sell our timeshare. We contacted sell my timeshare.com where our timeshare is still advertized for sale. We did not receive any inquiries, so about 5 months ago we lowered the asking price. We would really like to get rid of it, more than you can ever imagine right now.

In late September or early October of we received a telephone call from a man named Rick Bells, from RCI. He had our names, contact information, and RCI timeshare information. He stated that if we didnt use our accumulated points this year that we could lose them. He had the knowledge that we didnt use our points for the current year. We mentioned that our timeshare was currently for sale through Sell My Timeshare.com. He stated that RCI could help us sell or rent the timeshare.

We received several telephone calls, played phone tag and finally started to decide to have RCI list and advertize our timeshare. We received email with attachments, much like we did with Sell My Timeshare. The process was very much the same. Rick stated that we could not pay by credit card due to problems with the credit card companies. We could pay by bank check, personal check or check from the credit card company. Our only option was to use the credit card account check.

Right after the payment was made we tried to phone and email Rick Bells to see if everything was in order. We wanted to review and approve the advertisement before release to the public eye.

To this day, we still have not been able to reach Rick Bells by phone or email. We suspected that something might be wrong. So we exercised our right to cancel within the 7 day period as described in the Client Profile, Item 5.

We received our Bank of America statement in the mail and noticed the charge (check) was processed.

On Sunday, November 15th we placed several phone calls to Bank of America Customer Service to see what could be done. All of the customer service reps that we spoke with were not very understanding or helpful. Finally around 5:40 pm I (John) spoke to Andrew Frasier. After spending a lot of time on hold and in talking with Mr. Frasier, he said that we needed to contact Customer Service for Access Checking on Monday.

My wife Mindy finally got some guidance in the right direction today after speaking with a customer service rep for Access Checking.

We tried to stop this incident from getting this far but it seems to be slipping further out of control. Bank of America doesnt seem to take this incident as seriously as we do. Right now, we feel like we have been scammed. We do not want to be held financially responsible for the amount of $2,326.00. Bank of America knows exactly where this money was transferred to, we do not. There is a paper trail here. Bank of America has some of the pieces of the puzzle.

If our credit card was lost or stolen, we would be protected. We are afraid that Bank of America will not support us, even though we blew the whistle as early as now. Your phone reps want us to wait 6 months before taking any action. We cannot stress this enough, we want immediate action.

We did a quick internet search to see if we may have been scammed. Things are not looking well. See attached web search findings about RCI Management. Go to their website. On the surface it looks legit. Start to look deeper and there isnt much there. Our timeshare ad is not yet posted. Nor do we feel that it will be. Nor do we want it. We made every possible attempt to cancel on more than one occasion by telephone and in writing.
