On February 4th, I checked my checking account activity online, and it showed several pending transactions on that day. I deposited a BofA check into the account to cover the amount and thought that would be that. I worked as a teller a few years back, and I knew that a credit should post before a pending debit.
The next day (Feb 5th) I see that several of the transactions that were pending on the fourth had somehow managed to post on the third. My deposit posted on the fourth as expected, but I had already been charged 4 overdraft fees.
Surely many people must have noticed this little trick. It's deceitful and obviously designed to screw the account holder out as much money as they can. I will be closing my account ASAP and taking part in the class-action lawsuit against BofA for their overdraft policies.
