On many occasions I visit my local shoe carnival on gunbarrel rd, and they are excellent. That is where my day began. They did not have the shoes I had come in for, but happily called the store on 153 in hixson to reserve them for me. When I arrived at hixson I went to the clearance dept to grab some dress shoes I was needing in addition to my reserved full price shoes, and the full price shoes my boyfriend was purchasing.in that dept there was a sign clearly posted stating "all non'athletic pink sticker clearance shoes 50%" I was elated and began trying on pair after pair on the wall where the sign was posted. I then saw a sign next to it stating take an additional $5 off all pink sticker clearance. It was my lucky day. The $25 two pairs of dress shoes I had picked out would amount to $7.50 each! Other ladies were doing the same. When I remarked to my boyfriend about my luck, a salesclerk overheard, and the manager immediately came over and removed the 50% off sign, stating it was old and he would not honor it. Keep in mind that it was 5pm on a thursday. Sales usually run mon thru sun. I stated that the sign was up as I and many other ladies were shopping, I had used it to make my selections and I would leave my now 4 pairs of shoes that I had driven across town to get, there. He proceeded to berate me in front of other customers saying the sign was old, but to make me be quiet he would honor it for one pair. I told him this was unacceptable, as the sign did not say limit one. I explained also how I had two additional pairs of shoes to the clearance ones, one being held for me. They had not even pulled my shoes from the stockroom that had been called for two hours prior. How were they to even know they had them?! He finally begrudgingly honored his posted sign, but charging me half off, instead of the posted half off and additional $5 off. I am not a person that expects something for nothing, and would probably have just left with no shoes, however I was purchasing two other pairs, and this manager raised his voice and embarrassed me in front of other people like I was trying to pull some type of scam. I normally spend between $100-$150 with this retailer every month or so, but if their corporate office does not respond they will not have to worry about honoring their sales for me anymore.
