On February 2 my services were disconnected with the outside temperature being 29 degrees. I recevied a bill on Saturday 1/30/10 through my online bill service mycheckfree.com with a balance of $910.60 due by 2/12/10 but was sill disconnected on 2/2/10. I requested that someone come out and read my meter the previous month due to the extreme billing increase and the current month was even worse. Each month there are outrageous fees that goes to TVA fuel cost adjustment, county fire protection, mosquito/rodent control & stormm water fees. I made payments that totaled $200 in the month of January and I made payment arrangements with rude, crude and unprofessiona customer service representative to make $75 payment on Friday and was told that the minimum that I could pay being 3 days later was $419.23 and they would be adding a $25 reconnection fee and a $125 security deposit. When I initially began service with MLGW I was required to agree to a credit check and was NOT required to pay a deposit but now I am? I live in a 1 bedroom apartment my thermostat is left on 68 degrees, my hot water heater is on the lowest setting possible, I do laundry (2-3 loads) once a week (Sunday) and I work from 7a-5P & 6p-10p Monday-Friday so o would consider my usage to be very minimum.
