The company I work for gave us an option to either receive our salaries via direct deposit or be FORCED to have a global Cash Card. Our company saved money in processing pay roll and the employee was charged exhorbant fees every time they tried to take their salary out at an ATM machine.in plainer words, if you have a global Cash card you will be charged fees to access your salary. This is legal perhaps because of banking deregulation but it is repulsive and discusting abuse of American workers. And the global Cash Card company has, in fact contracts with government employees.
Employees salaries are kept in the bank of the global Cash Card company where it helps them gain interest and profits from the employees salary.
When they give you a card they give you a brochure of the "rules", with writing that is so small you can barely read it; along with a fee schedule that is barely readable. They also say that by accepting this card you agree not to be part of a class action law suit. Of course you take the card if you want your salary. They also sell your private data to other companies.
This is criminal by the banks at best and targets poor employees who do not have bank accounts and are charged every time they try to have access to their salaries.
