Today I received a toll-free call from a Miss Scott who said it was not a solicitation call but it was urgent that I call her back at an extension number. I called the number she left and discovered it was to Merchants Credit Guide. Mysteriously the word "guide" is spoken so softly the Merchants Credit is what is heard. I used the extension number as directed and the call hung up on me before the Miss Scott answered. I thought something was strange about the call so I redialed and this time I heard the "guide". I immediately hung up thinking it was a scam of some kind, since I recently refinanced my home and have paid off my credit cards with the exception of one which I will get next month. After doing the internet search and finding the Ripoff site, I began reading the comments from people for years. How can a company keep this up? Alabama has a fraud law and a fraud hot line. I am considering contacting the Attorney General's office to report them. I reported a company for fraudulent practices with dishnetwork and they ceased to advertise here. I don't plan to return any of their calls. Will the do not call list capture these shysters?
