Anderson, Crenshaw & Associates
Justin Goldstein Very condescending. Was too busy talking to listen to me. Accused me of not paying bills. I pay ligitimate bills. This bill is not legitimate!

I began receiving letters from Anderson, Crenshaw and Associates in July or August. I did not initially open the letters because they appeared to be junk mail/solicitation mail since I did not recognize the company. After receiving them for a couple of months I opened them to discover that it was for debt collection purposes. I immediately called the number included in the letter only to find that it was actually a company called Castlerock Security. I was then informed by Castlerock that the previous alarm company had "sold" my contract and that when they tried to bill the automatic withdrawel (we had our previous alarm service deducted every month) they couldnt do it. I informed them that the previous contract was up in May and when no drafts acme in June, I didn't think anything about it, because when I spoke with the previous company (SAI) in July I had instructed them to cancel the contract at the end of the term. I had been very dissatisfied with the services because the initial alarm company APEX, sold to SAI soon after the contract was started and then I was called and notified by mail that the system would need updating because of changes in the digital/analog sytems required by the FCC. These changes had been mandated prior to the system being sold to us and this was going to require more expense. I had informed SAI that I felt APEX had dumped these systems knowing that they would require the upgrade, so I did not upgrade and told them to cancel. No one ever told me that I would be required to send a letter in writing to cancel and if I did not that it would be automatically renewed. The contract was then "sold to Castlerock" without any notification to me. I informed Castlerock of all of these details and was told that the initial contract spells out that a letter must be sent to cancel. I did locate the initial contract and it is indeed in the contract, however, I have a couple of problems with this in that most people will not rememebr a contract that was signed 3 years prior, if they even have a copy 3 years later and also when I spoke with SAI employees in July no one told me this. I have attempted to resolve this in the most fair way I can. I have sent letters to Castlerock explaining that I would pay for the months I recieved letters that I did not open which would total $124.47. I felt this was fair, because had I opened the letters I would have known earlier. However, I receievd a letter stating I would have to pay $539.37 for an entire year. I have informed them that I will not do that and would accept a letter indicating the contract could be cancelled for $124.47. I have also had communication with Anderson, Crenshaw & Associates and provided them with faxed copies of my letters to Castlerock. I have spoken with Terry (on 10-14-09 @12:50 PM) and a supervisor named Dan (on 10-14-09 @ 6:10 PM) to inform them of the situation and my refusal to pay the amount requested by Castlerock for the obvious detailed reasons stated above. I requested that no more calls be made because I will never pay the amount requested by Castlerock. I have continued to receive weekly phone calls from Anderson, Crenshaw & Associates, which I have not returned until tonight (1-19-10 at 6:15 PM). I returned the call to a Justin Goldstein and attempted to explain the situation. Obviously I am irritated at the continued calls regarding this situation. He had the nerve to ask me why I was angry. PLEASE! While I was attemtping to explain to him he began talking over me. I informed him that I would never pay this bill. And while I was attemtping to tell him why he stated he had all the information in the computer and told me the reason the country has a trillion dollar deficit is because people like me don't pay their bills. I told him he could keep this on my credit for eternity because I wouldn't pay it and that it would roll off in 7 years. I don't have a credit score of 760 by not paying bills. I am sure there are others who have experienced this same condescending attitude from this boy. Hopefully the Anderson, Crenshaw & Associates will wake up and look into who they are attemtping to collect for and realize it is not always as it seems!
