I purchased 2 Sanyo HDtv LCD on November 24 from Walmart, I paid $900.00 for each tv. At checkout I was asked if I wanted to purchase the 2year extended service plan and warranty, I accepted seeing as incase anything happened I would be covered and not out all that money.
Well my extended service plan just expired on November 24, my tv just completely shit the bed on me lastnight. I called walmart and they gave me another phone number to ask about my service plan the woman I spoke with told me that there is a 6 month grace period after the extended service plan and warranty has expired and I was still covered for another 4 months to call Sanyo directly.
Well I called Sanyo directly and spoke with a CSR who told me there was nothing they could do because my extended service plan was expired and all there HD LCD tv's only have a 3 year life expectancy! Wait what!!! 3 years, so I paid $900.00 for this television, and now I'm screwed because you only offer a 2 year extended service plan which will only cover the 3 year life expectencey but its not posted anywhere on the labels on the boxes when you buy them. So in other words they don't give a shit about there consumers, and they know that the tvs won't last longer than 3 years. They won't do anything about it either, I was told to purchase a new tv that they just put out new models. WTF!!! Yeah I'm really gonna purchse from you now, after all this Bullshit, spin again.
I also asked since I purchased 2 tv's and my other one is still running as of right now if I could purchase another extended service plan for another 2 years. I was told NO! So basically now if the other tv shits the bed, I'm completely screwed and I'll be out a total of $1,800.00 including the $70.00 for each tv for the extended service plan and warranty.
Now that I know this I will never in my life ever purchase another product from sanyo and if your looking into buying a tv from them PLEASE consider other tv's from another company b/c you will go through the same problem I am now.
