I was an HSBC customer for years for credit cards, mortgage and home improvement loans. I was an excellent customer. However, due to an error that I made I went over my credit limit. They then turned around and more than doubled my interest rate. They gave me no notice, absolutely nothing in writing.
I was checking my online HSBC account and noticed the minimum payment due was extremely large. So, I checked the APR and saw lo and behold just what they did. I closed the account and they have lost my business forever.
They are deceptive and cunning. Something has to be done to help the millions of customers that they have done this to. KR East Stroudsburg PA
