A Plea To Verizon Wireless & LG. Please Offer Us An LG Voyager 2!

I'm writing this to the Corporate-Heads over at both LG Electronics and Verizon Wireless. I'm asking that you please start not-only offering us access to more phones, but also to more (Advanced) phones, with Advanced Features. Up until now those of us Verizon customers have only been allowed access to just a few new phones released every year. A problem onto-itself; but also considering the that the bulk of those new phones are more Entry-Level, or Mid-Level phones; that mainly only appeal to the Basic-User. These Basic-Users though are not yet the ones who are ready to spend extra money each month to use the Advanced Features that Verizon has spent billions on offering us. There is another piece to all of this that seems to be overlooked; the number of more Advanced-Users is growing; due in large part to customers on other network's being offered not only more Advanced phones, but also more freedom to use them. Most notability AT&T and their iPhone; which proves customers will buy Advanced phones if you sell them. So for Verizon it just doesn't make much sense to keep throwing money into new technologies; while at the same time not offer enough phones that can actually use these Advanced Features? An example is Verizon's High-Speed EV-DO Rev-A upgrade. Verizon Wireless started upgrading their network to Rev-A back in but I have only been able to find less then a dozen phones that can use it. AT&T on the other hand who's HSDPA 3G network offering is only a fraction of the size of Verizon's 3G network; has put out something like 20 phones that can access HSDPA. Not to mention all of the (Unlocked) phones available to AT&T customers from other HSDPA carriers around the world; Which Verizon Customers (DO NOT) Have Access To Any Phone Not Designed For Use On The Verizon Wireless Network. So this puts those of us Verizon customers into a tough spot. We can either stay with Verizon, and just except what few phones are offered to us; or we can leave. But I'm happy with Verizon, so I am not looking to leave. The best phone Verizon currently offers is the LG VX1000 Voyager. It's built using a design that I and others consider to be the Best design for a phone of it's kind. It's a Flip-Open phone, with a Touch-Screen on the outside & a full QWERTY keyboard on the inside. Throw in Two-18-Bit Screens, Stereo Speakers, An HTML Browser, Media Player, Ect, and the phone is like a tiny Laptop computer!
The problem is the Voyager debuted in which makes it Out-of-Date when compared to many of the other phones currently on the market through other carriers. And as of January the only LG phone that could even be considered an update to the Voyager; is the LG VX9700 Dare. But that's just a Touch-Screen-Only phone, with basically the same software as the Voyager. There was also an LG Voyager "Titanium" update, but that was only a Color and Firmware upgrade; so it's still the same basic Voyager. The LG Dare did offer EV-DO Rev-A though, but at a $400 price tag! A customer can get any number of phones or wireless PDA's that pack a million times more Advanced Potential Abilities as the Dare for that price. I do know though that this decision isn't only upto Verizon or LG, and that is why I am writing 1 email to both companies. I know since LG made the first Voyager; that they can make an even better version with the spec's needed to compete with other phones of it's kind. And seeing as Verizon Wireless is the largest wireless carrier in the USA, and the 11th largest wireless carrier on Earth; that "Should" bring with it a sense of (Needing To Lead The Pack On All Possible Fronts) mentality. So I hope that persons at both companies read this, and understand that there is more then 2 parties involved with wireless communication; that the customer is the 3rd and most critical part of the equation. And as a customer, I am hoping that LG makes another Voyager and that Verizon starts leading the US carrier pack by offering more phone options then any other carrier. Please don't let Verizon Wireless become an America Online; where AOL Controlled and Locked-Down pretty much (Everything) their customers could do with the Internet and it lead to AOL being left for dead; once customers realized all that the Internet could provide them. The US Wireless market might still be young when compared to Asia and Europe, but it won't remain this way forever. So Verizon please give us customers more of a reason then dependability to stay with you; because that justification alone will only mean so much, for so long. Especially since your competitors will soon be where you are now.
