I sent my Creative Zen MO3 player them to have it fixed and the pictures retrieved from it. There was about 2 thousand pictures mostly of my family of friends that I had stored in that player over the past 4 years so needless to say this is very important to me. They charged my about 90 dollars to get it fixed. They told me the hard drive was broken and they fixed it, it was not fixed i sent it to them again and they sent it back to me with the same response. This went on until I demanded that they fix it correctly because im tired of paying to have it shipped to them. (I spent close to 30 dollars in shipping) First they told me it was my computer and there was a problem with my computer. I had tried it on at least 12 other computer with the same results. Then they told me it was the software. (I on the original software and it works fine with my friend exact same player.) Gadget Doctor: Every now and then, a computer will stop recognizing the player. The only way around this is to reinstall Windows. We encounter this same problem about once every 6 months. We do not know why it occurs. But we reinstall windows once every 6 months. Standard procedure.

I asked them for a video showing my player worked. They sent me link to a youtube video that did even exist! The Gadget doctor: The problem has been corrected. You should now have access. The video did what appeared to be my player being turned on and connected to a computer but, it didn't show much else. After the video the President of The Gadget doctor wrote me this letter. Wrote me this letter. Hello, I am Adrienne, President of The Gadget Doctor. I have reviewedyour case and all communications. You are the most difficult customerwe have ever had to date, and we are no longer willing to be flexiblewith you due to your unwillingness to work with us. We fixed yourplayer from day one and you kept mailing it back to us, and we had tokeep mailing it back. This has costed us enough time and money and weare not willing to spend any more on you or your case. Your playerstill sits as it was from day one when we repaired it, working, readyto use, 100% fixed. We have fulfilled our obligations to you and youare unwilling to accept this.

Here are our terms: 1. We have called your bank and they say that they graciously providetheir customers 120 days to file a chargeback. We are going to holdyour MP3 player as collateral against any chargeback you may file upto the 120 day limit, after which time we will release it to you. Ifyou do file a chargeback we will sell your MP3 player to cover ourlosses. We are not liable for any losses this may cost you. 2. If you mail us a letter that is signed and dated by you statingthat your MP3 player has been repaired and we have satisfied yourexpectations for Order ID 2552, we will go ahead and release the MP3player to you before the 120 days is up. 3. We are fully willing and able to cooperate with police should theydecide to investigate this matter of $89.99. We have never beencontacted by police or consumer agencies before, so this would be afirst for us. We will show them the video and your admission that thevideo proves your player syncs with the computer. This should besufficient proof that we have satisfied our obligations to you.

We have nothing further to say on this matter. This matter is closedpending the 120 days or receipt of your signed and dated letter.

It is my belief and that of others, including employees at 2 local electronics stores is that they messed up and deleted my pictures and cannot fix my player. Rather then fess up and tell the truth they are keeping my player and my money. Which they currently have both. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau and a lawyer. The BBB only can be used as a mediator so they can't help me, and because of the small value of the player and the fact they are located in WA and Im in NY makes it not worth it to take this to court. At this point they are refusing to respond to my e-mails and phone calls and after the 120 days (sometime around December I believe) They can sent me back my player IN ANY CONDITION keep my money and I can't do a thing about it! This is a company that does regurlar business selling MP3 players on E-bay! Beware!!! If anyone has any ideas how to fight this and make THE GADGET DOCTOR do the right thing please let me know. Thank you
