These people got in touch with me and somehow already had my card info. I assume it had to do with my son and some stuff he ordered using my card on the net. He also had a program installed on my comp to remember everything typed in. Account names passwords, card numbers. These people have bugged me to death. I have tried several times to cancel the magazines they say i ordered and each time the magazines are different. My bank already froze my bank card once because of this company billing me which the bank thought of as unusual charges for me. Now after getting a new bank card with a new number they Still have my account info. I checked my bank account online today and there is a draft check on it that has already cleared made out to publishers guide. It has all my info printed on the check and everything. I do not have paper checks. I have tried before to cancel this subscription and when i called after being told i could cancel anytime in next 30 days the lady andswered the phone "hello". She sounded like i woke her up. I said im sorry i must have the wrong number. She was like who were you trying to reach and i mention national magazine and she was like oh we do bussiness for them how can i help you and started trying to sound all prfessional and what not. I told her i wanted to cancel the magazines and she said i couldnt. Gave me a load of crap about why i couldnt and what not and said she would drop my monthly rates down by half. I told her i still didnt want the magazines and that i had changed my bank info. She gave me a huge hassel and said i would still be billed the monthly amount for the next 3 yrs because we had a agreement. I told her yet again i wanted it canceled i wanted off their call list and didnt want to be bothered again. Few days later a guy calls me saying he is from publishers guide formerly national magazine exchange and wanted to go over the magazines i ordered because they were fixing to send them out and read off a list that was totally different than the one before. I told him the same thing. I dont want the magazines i dont want to be billed for them that i have already told a woman before that i wanted it cancelled and he told me the same thing. We had a agreement and i couldnt cancel that i had to honor my debt. Well as i said i check my account this morning and sure enough the suckers got me again. I am a divorcing mom of 3 kids struggling to survive. I cant afford these stupid magazines and cant get rid of them or anything. They will run you in circles trying to get off their list. I am on the do not call list. Both phones we have are on the do not call list but yet im still getting bothered by these people. I am at my wits end over this company. They do like to change their name often. Guess it seems because they have so many fraudulant claims against them as i have found out. I knew it was a scam but didnt realize how huge it was til i found this site. I feel like an idiot. I have christmas coming and 3 kids to buy for on my own and cant afford this and i dont know how to get them to stop. I have sent in dispute claims to my bank on the charge and told them it was the same company as before but was using a different company name now. I never authorized the charges. So hopefully my bank will help me out again and we can together figure out some way to keep this place from billing my account without my permission..
