On october 22 a person that i am currently suing in small claims court came by my home and proceded to drive my classic car (no p.O.S.) off of the jackstands it was resting on and off into oblivion knocking two large holes in the wall of my garage in the process. What do you do in that situation? Call the police right? Well apparently that is not a crime according to Detective Patty Rostenburg and the Avondale Police Department. I had first called them when the soon to be new owner of my vehicle pulled in front of my house and would not leave. While i was on the line with the Avondale police this same person proceded to WALK INTO MY GARAGE AND DRIVE AWAY IN MY CAR. I informed the dispatcher what was going on and finally after about 10-15 minutes an officer showed up@ my house. I told the patrolman what had happened and even got the person who had taken my vehicle on the phone and the patrolman proceded to talk to this person and agreed to meet them somewhere to talk. Justice served right? WRONG AGAIN. The patrolman came back to my house saying that what i had was a smalll claims case and no further action would be taken against the pepole who took my car because they were the last registered owners (their is a difference between being the last registered owner and being the title holder) and THEY TOOK THIER WORD FOR IT THAT THEY HAD THE TITLE FOR MY CAR AT HOME!
Oh it dosent stop there. A sargent showed up to my home while I was talking to the other officers and informed me that their hadnt been a crime committed when the person in question walked into my garage because i didnt have no trespassing posted on my property so not only were they not going to do anything about my car they wernt going to do anything about the damage to my garage. Later on in the day i was contacted by Avondale P.D. And was told that I needed more proof of owership THAN THE TITLE THAT WAS ISSUED BY THE STATE OF ARIZONA. Of course i obliged and went and paid money for a mvr (motor vehicle report) and lo and behold who does it say the owner of the car is? ME! Case closed right? WRONG AGAIN! According to the arizona dmv I am the legal owner of the car and their is only ONE title for my car and its the one i have. Hell their was lien placed on my title by the city of glendale for a old ticket i havent paid for yet. So what that means as far as the state of arizona and the city of glendale is concered its my car. Apparently we are all wrong and the Avondale police are right. I Talked to Detective Rostenburg earlier today and was told that not only was the Avondale p.D. Not taking any action on my case THEY WERE INVESTIGATING ME FOR FRAUD... Please help!
