I received a call from a man (George Watson) who sounded Middle and he advised me of a lawsuit against me for failure to repay a payday loan. I had no knowledge of this and didnt believe the information was accurate so he transferred me to a senior attorney (Ron Murphy) who tells me I am being charged for fraud and two other things. He confirms my identity by using the last four of my SSN and my name. I told him I havent received any information pertaining to this lawsuit and he continues to tell me I received email correspondence. I have had payday loans in the past but none with Cash Connect. Mr. Murphy tells me I must appear in court in California this Thursday morning (I live in Michigan) or I can make a credit or debit card payment today in the amount of 745.25. I tell him I don't have the money so he tells me I have one hour to come up with it. After an hour Mr. Murphy calls back and I advise him I will just have to go to court. I ask him for information and he tells me he has already given me too much. I told him I am being sued but he's not going to give me the information pertaining to who is suing me or where to go. He then gives me the court address in california but that's all. I decided to look up cash connect and to my surprise I see several complaints similar to mine and something needs to be done.
