I was contacted by an individual who's name was supposedly Chris Rogers, with a very thick Indian accent. I was told I have an outstandind payday loan with cash connect for $200, and I now owe $398.00. I was called on Friday and told I had a court date that coming Monday in California, which was crazy because I live in MD.
I was told that the MD state police are going to serve me with a subpoena to come to court and that I had been sent emails and letters to my home. I was read a so called affidavit with all my personal information. Yes, I have applied for payday loans but not with this company. I was then transferred to the so called attorney, Jim Brown, who also had a very thick Indian accent. This person kept asking me what was my intention, I told him I don't know what he's talking about, I have bank statements that show I don't have this loan outstanding. I was then told my bank statements don't matter and that bank statements can be falsified.
This is the second time these people have called me. I believe these payday loan websites are selling information or are not very secure.
