The story begins as a trip back from daytona beach and heard the ad on the radio about some sale at bill heard. I have stopped there before but never had too much of a problem, "probably becasue i knew i was not leaving with a different car" but at any rate, my fiance and i stopped in sunburned and sandy from the beach looking at used cars for a while. We ask for help... And low and be hold David Smith...
David Smith, top salesmen of the month, so an and so forth... As nice a he could be, he spent time with us and showed us some cars such as an 01 grand am. Bald tires, engine light was glowing bright, no fluids, so an and so forth. As stated in the contract, that those items would be fixed before i drove it home. This was on a sunday by the way. They agreed to the deal with the trade so the next day we had to bring in the trade and finish the deal.
Now, the car had to be fixed up so they took it for a few days to do it, that was fine and all.in order to do that, they gave us a loaner, a nice stratus. They put a temp tag in it and off i went. The next morning, I go to work and get pulled over! I figure, ok probably a cop wondering why a dealer tag on a car with no dealer in the car... Come to find out that the tag was not up to date! He writes me a ticket on the spot for an expired tag! Then i take the car back to the dealer that afternoon to exchange the tag for a good one and to give them the ticket, because ill be damned if i was gunna pay it. Also found out that the tag that he gave me was not even theirs! It was some other dealers Tag! Any how, got the new tag and the car that i bougt was still not finishd, this was on tuesday eve now. Car was supposed to be finishd on Tue morning.
Come Wed afternoon they say the car will be ready at 5pm. Granted i had to work that day from 3pm - 10 pm i had to take some time off again to fix the car problem i was there at 5:30 to pick up the car. Go figre, the car was not even back at the dealership for delivery. So i wait, and wait. It pulles up... Its filthy! By now, it 6:30 now, it goes into the detail shop for another 2.5 hours, i finally went back to work at 9 that eve.
Thus is ok, but fri afternoon they call and say that the finance company said that we had to put moremoney ont he car to stay at the same payments per month but at a higher interest rate. I told them to begin with that i did not have the cash to put on the car to begin with. And the the "Coutesy Delivery policy" stating if the finance company does not approve the loan, customer has to return the car. I said, ok, i dont have the cash, i will bring backthe car. They did not like that idea the wanted to "See what we could work out" i gave them 2 more hours of my time fri eve. I said " The car will be back on your lot at noon tomarow, have my old car back with all docs ready with the keys" their exact words..."Fine, ill have your OLD car Back for YOU!!!" i left that office.
Next day, im at MC Namara Pontiac talking to a good frind of ours about the whole ordeal picking out another car...
My fiance calles me from Bill Heard saying that bill heard is charging her for the milage onteh car and crap like that. She expressed herself and left with her old car." What a Wonderful sight that was in that lobby"
From Mc namara we found out that Bill heard had run our credit though ever bank known to man! And made it look like we were financing a pos for 20k! So DUHH they would turn us down with "NO MONEY DOWN" but our good frind at MC Namara found a bank for us and got us a new 03 grand am for less money Ha. GO figre!
Another week later they call us on a sat morning asking why I "Matt" did not sign the contract for the car we purchesd???
Well, as you can probably understand my frustrations with this company you can kinda figre out the dialoge in that conversation.
And now i cringe with ever Bill Heard Commertial.
