Received a letter from "International Award Claim Department" 150 Casino Square, Niagara Falls NY 11100 stating that I have won $55,500.00 in a lottery at Niagara Casino New York.
A check for $3,955.00 was enclosed, from Denby USA Limited, 65 Clyde Road, Somerset NJ 08873, drawn on Bank of America. The check appears real, and even has an artificial watermark on the back.
I am instructed to use some of the money from the check to pay taxes on the $55,000, but to first call the disbusement agent, "Mr. Bob" Marcindi, at 1-647-868-3818. The taxes are to be paid by either Western Union or Moneygram. I am also instructed to provide details of my bank account so they can wire transfer the $55,500.00.
This appears identical to the rip-off scheme that people reported months ago, except that it was postmarked in Canada September and has a new phone number for "Mr. Bob": 1-647-868-3818.
Thank you consumer complaints for making it easy to determine that this is a rip-off.
