What Customer Service - customer service

I tried to set up an online account but was not able to do so. I called customer service, the woman I spoke with was reading directly from a script and had no clue about website or any technical issues that could occur.in fact, I can't figure out why she was even in customer service... Finally after 20 min on the phone i asked to speak to her supervisor, she informed me that i would have to call back yet again. No way, I insisted on speaking with her manager, so guess what she did put me on hold and then cut me off. I promptly called back spoke with another gentlemen who of course could not HELP ME AT ALL. Correct me, bit isn't the whole point of customer service to help the customer if they are paying for a SERVICE. I can see that employee training is not high on this companies list...
