Stay away from Gateway - FX6800

I will never buy a Gateway product again. Worst of all, my wife told me not to buy one based on reviews she had read just like the one I am writing now. I bought a Gateway FX6800 at Best Buy. The hard drive has failed after 2 months. Have spent hours going back and forth with Best Buy and Gateway. End result is BB can send my computer away for 4 to 5 weeks to fix it. Or Gateway will send me a hard drive to intall myself in 5 to 8 days if I give them a credit card to charge and then send them the defective part for a refund (I only get 10 days to return it, they get as long as they like). Best Buy can fix it now by putting in a new hard drive but charges about $180 plus the hard drive to get it going. Why can't Gateway just have BB take care of it. Why do I have to get parts and fix it myself or wait 5 weeks for the BB "authorized service center". This is a brand new computer that's defective. Got the run around from the Gateway system and kinda feel brushed off. No appologies from them at all, just clinical here's all you get buddy. I will never buy a Gateway product again. Hate to admit it but my wife was right.
