The company achieves this by misrepresenting itself as:
1) A company that has been in business since the early 90's - Actually Stephen Stough has driven a taxi. Delivered Magazines, interned for another South Florida PI firm, repo'd cars, worked for his brothers construction company (BENCHMARK CONSTRUCTION) in the last few years. The license the company operates under was issued only a few months ago. Previously the company operated for a couple years under the license of a disbarred South Florida attorney.
2) The company emphasizes it international reputation, Often speaks of operators conducting missions all over the world. The company does not now and has never conducted a single international mission. The stories of daring kidnap and ransom situations, piracy protection giving armed protection to ships traversing hazardous waters around Somali, repo'ing yahts, and teams of operators all around the world is complete fabrication.
3) The company tells stories about in former Navy seals, Rangers, and Special Forces personnel is complete fabrication. STEPHEN STOUGH is the ONLY full time tactical person employed by the company. Recently a prospective client that was the focus of the SCAM was Maersk (the large shipping company) asked for a typical resume of a Stough operator. Stephen Stough sent him a resume he received from an employment candidate who was never hired or even interviewed by the company.
4) Stough talks about working for many nationally respected companies like Haliburton and Trump Int'l. The company has NEVER worked for those companies. Stephen Stough *may* have worked for a company that guarded Trump or worked for a company that provided security services for Haliburton. But his company has never contracted with any well known company.
5) The company talks about the SIX FIGURE SALES OPPORTUNITY. The truth is of all the sales people who paid to enroll in this SCAM across the country not a single rep as made even one single sale anywhere in the country. Not one case-not one security camera-not one GPS-not one international sale-not one kidnapping case-not one bodyguard detail-not one infidelity case - NOT ONE SINGLE SALE! NOT ONE DOLLAR EARNED BY EVEN ONE SALES REP FOR PI BUSINESS. All these committed and talented reps not a single one has receive $1 in sales commission from Private Investigation sales
6) Stephen Stough represents himself as a successful business executive. The truth is that he is living in his third rented home in Ft. Lauderdale this year. Forced to leave the 2 bedroom 1 bath home he rented for the last few years, he has lived in 3 rented houses in the last 6 months. Every car that he owns is being sold on Craigslist.org in South Florida. Stephen often speaks to his prospects about his private planes and his 100k cars. Obviously if you can't keep your rented house you are not likely to own a plane.
7) Stephen Stough often talks about the size and reach of his company. The facts are that the company has 3 total employees. Stephen Stough, Meghan Moyle (his girl friend who has not been paid this year), and a sweet nave young girl who answers the telephone. She has been with the company for two months, EVERY OTHER PERSON HAS LEFT FOR NON PAYMENT OF WAGES.
