Magazine Scam

2 young men, who claimed to be home schooled came knocking on my apartment door in Provo. They said that they were trying to get 'points' to go towards a scholarship for school. They were good natured and showed me everything on the receipt to make it seem legit. I wish I would have checked online first. They told me a way of how I could sign up for the magazines and then cancel within three days, or just to call the number, but they would still get half their points. They would not cash my checks, especially if I called the next day to cancel my subscription. LIES! I called numerous times and it went to an automated message that said they were currently helping another subscriber. I wrote them an email, nothing. But not only did I not get my money back. I did not even get the stupid magazines I "subscribed" to. I am angry. I am a poor college student to say the least, and although it was stupid of me to trust these 18 year old boys, I am out $170.00 and I am very unhappy about it, not to mention hope I can pay for tuition this semester. I want to somehow make these guys go down, but would have no idea where to start! I hope no one else gets scammed by these guys. Anyone have any suggestions about how I can be proactive about this situation and do something about it?
