In October I was contacted by New Hope Modifications and told they could help me obtain a loan modification. I was told they do not accept cases where they cannot help the consumer. One month's mortgage payment ($2,015.62) was due before they could begin working for me with my lender. After making the payment and completing and faxing the required documentation, I was told not to have any more contact with my lender.
I continued to receive past due notices and notices of default from my lender. I secured additional parttime employment and reduced my monthly expenses during this period as well. I thought New Hope Modifications was working with my lender to help me save my home. After 6 weeks, I received a phone call from Khallil Belle from New Hope, informing me that my lender did not approve my modification and my case would be closed.
I asked Mr. Belle to submit the documentation showing I had secured additional employment and had reduced my monthly expenses. He told me that it would look like New Hope was lying to the lender to help me. I had proof of the additional employment and the household expense reduction, but he refused to submit it. I contacted my lender, faxed over the new financial information and received a loan modification approval in less than seven days.
I requested a refund of the $2,015.62 from New Hope in December. I received a phone from Kelly Fisher Executive Services in March stating I was not entitled to a refund because their services are not "free" and New Hope Modifications earned their fee. I also received an email from Brian Mammoccio that New Hope Modifications worked "extremely hard" on my case and "no one wins every case". I would like to be a part of any class action lawsuit or any other legal avenue to put a stop to this company's despicable business practices.
