I hired All Star Moving to move me from Hamburg, NY to Colorado Springs Co because they beat Shelli Van Lines estimate (estimate was: $ 894) I gave them an itemized list of my belonings and they gave me this estimate. I even ended up leaving larger pieces of my furniture behind, that were on the estimate (reducing the weight even more) The movers came to my house and packed up my belongings, using packing materials they did not need (I had already packed my things up) and after it was all packed on the truck they told me they wanted $4000 ontopp of the $300 I already had paid. ($500 was for the packing materials - alot of which was strewn all over my floor) I told them that they were crazy and told them that I have an estimate. At the time, I didnt know that this wasnt actually All Star Movers (the company I had hired) but was Shelli Van Lines (All Star had them come to move me) I spoke to my representative who asked me what I could pay, I told them $1000 and that was it (on top of the $300 already paid) he accepted it and the movers left with my things. I was driving to Colorado when I got a call from the owner of Shelli Van Lines telling me he wanted $800 more (on top of the $1300 already paid). I told him that I paid him what I could etc and I was driving and wasnt able to discuss it. I called him back when I got to my destination and he would not bring me my belongings til I paid him the $800 I told him I dont have it and dont know when I will. He told me he would store my things for me until I could pay. I told him of course he would because then he would charge me for storage. He assured me that he wouldnt charge me for storage. SO I told him I would probably have the money buy late June early July. (i was emailing my rep at All Star movers the whole time) When the time came I called the owner of Shelli to et up delivery and asked him if he would take $600, he agreed to this and said his movers would be to me that next weekend and would call before delivering. I never receieved a call to confirm so I called the owner again who assured me that they were on their way and would call me when they were 3-4 hours from delivering (also, this Shelli guy called the rep at All Star and told him we had set up delivery) However, the weekend came and went and no movers, no call. So I tried calling the owner and left a number of voice mails... He didnt call me back. Finally, I called him early morning on the weekend and he answered, he told me he would look into it. I never heard back from him. Mind you, I am also keeping in contact with the All Star guys and keeping them up on what is going on. The All Star rep even called the owner of Shelli and asked him what he was doing, but the Shelli owner didnt know that he was an All Star rep, he thought he was MY friend so he disclosed to him everything he told me. So I called the Shelli owner again and asked him what was going on, he tells me that he hasnt heard from me in months and now he wants $1000 to deliver my things because he wants storage fees. I reminded him that he told me he wouldnt charge me storage fees and his response to me was: Prove I said it! I called the All Star Moving company and told them that I hired their company, told them what was said to me and that they need to take care of it because I hired THEM not this Shelli Van Lines guy. The All Star manager will not return my calls he just tells my rep, who does correspond with me that he is taking care of it, but yet nothing happens. I got the number to an owner of All Star and called him and he said he would look into it... I didnt hear back from him so I called him again and he told me that he called the manager but he hasnt bothered to call him back, then he assured me he would try to get ahold of him again that night. Days later, nothing. I got an email from my rep at All Star with this address to report this because he is disgusted with what is going on. I am living in Colorado with non of my belongings, I have had to buy some new things so my child and I can get by. But school is going to start soon and we have nothing. And these movers are playing games.
