Joey M LaFata insisted on marrying me and my fiance'. I looked at his website (which is not 25 years experience) i find out later, His Website states he can marry ANYWHERE! That is a LIE! He can ONLY marry in the State of Florida as a JP.
His ceremony's on any location is called a SPIRITED ceremony! Do not expect a license from any other location where your marriage will take place. You will recieve a marriage License from Florida with a differant date and his home will be the location!
This put us in a bind because I had to let my job know within 30 days of the marriage and he put on the License that we were Married in April, which means that we were married for two months and we didn't know it! This man is nothing but a Fraud!
I can't put my husband and stepdaughter on my Benefits because of his fals statements on the marriage License. They have to wait a one year now!
Everything he say's and writes looks and sounds very good on paper and emails but that's it! He basically used our money to fly himself to Hawaii and got a cheap place to stay and rented a car!
He always changed the wedding package and adding more money to the package. I had to email him several times to revise the wedding package. He was so persistant about what he was going to do, and how nice it will turn out especially the sunset pictures which we missed that too!
Most of all, I was livid when i got my marriage license. Once again, he insist that he tells all his clients, (but not us,) that he can ONLY Marry in the State of Florida! If I had known that I would of got someone in Honolulu like I planned.
Now that he's lied to us and ruined our day, I have been questioned by a few hundred people from work, friends, family, and legal advisors asking are you legally married? MY answere is Not in Hawaii? Which is what I wanted and he knew this!
He Never went to the City Hall in Honolulu like I thought he was going to for our license, we can't even get a marriage certificate from Hawaii? I am so upset at this person!
He worked at the same company as I as a contracter, this is how I met him.
He was living in Nashua for quite sometime.
This mess is still not over! I have to work and get help with legal advisors about my rights for what he's done to me and my Husband (I think he's my husband). We still are so unsure if we are legally married!
It's been ONE HUGE Nightmare! I never got my pictures Neither! He was paid 2,500.00 this didn't include my trip, which he made a commission on that too, he insisted on booking the trip so he can make more money!
I had to print out all my information he sent me via email and i had to book my own flight! That's the travel Agents Job!
I will "Never" do business with this person again!!
