On line I received an offer of a sterling silver necklace for $9.00. When I received the necklace it cheap looking but OK for the cost.
Later that week I received five more packages from the same company. I called them to find out why, to which they stated that it was a club I had joined and shipments are mailed twice per month.
I asked how much each piece of jewelry was and received a reply of $68.00 each. The operator told me I could cancel account and could return the jewelry, which I did the next morning.
I then discovered two weeks later when reviewing my bank statement that all five necklaces were charged on my card, totaling $340.00. I did not authorize this company to use my credit card for anything other than the $9.00 initial charge.
I contacted the company in the beginning of June and asked when my account would be credited. They stated that the charge would be refunded within ten days, but my account may not be credited for up to two billing cycles.
I again called on July 22 and was told that the refund was submitted on June 11. I objected and stated that I never authorized them to charge my account, the operator stated that she could not speed up the process, doing anything to the account would only delay the refund process.
