My Name is david, on saturday july 11th my car broke down in ogden, utah, i had it towed to charlie's service & muffler shop in 1901 n main street sunset, utah 84015 phone there is (801) 773-1193, my car sat there until monday july 13th upon which i went to the shop and told them what happened and authorized a diagnostics test only and that they were to call me first before making any repairs, they fixed it without calling me when i went in to their shop on thursday july 16th i told them that they were wrong for repairing it without asking me and to take the starter back out, two office ladies began to argue with me in front of my brother and other customers and the ladies got two mechanics envolved in the arguement, i told them: "you did not call me not even one time i had to call you four times and then i found out 2 days later that you fixed without talking to me. "they replied lying to me right to my face that they tried calling 3 times and got no answer then i showed them my phone which i carry with me all the time and it's always on plus i was eagerly awaiting their call so i would know what the diagnoses was before letting them do anything, then they changed their story to they called me twice and then i answered the second time and told them to go ahead and fix it which is a total lie, because not only did i not speak to anyone but i would never have authorized nearly $500 worth of service including labor dollars for a starter that only cost $169.99 at the AutoZone in Layton, Utah which you get back $65 dollars for the core, had they really made contact with me i would Never approved such dishonest work, i also told them that"even if i did not answer you took it upon yourselves to fix it without my permission which they did. I spent over 30 minutes arguing with them about how dishonest it is so they took of $100 dolllars which brought the total to $359.08 for a 15 to 25 minute job which they charged me alot more labor than true to life actual time it takes for the starter to be installed, minus the core fee it would have only costed me $104.99 after i got the money back for the core and one of my family members would have put it in for free i told them all of this and also told them that i would never approved them to go ahead and fix it period, every single one of the four people involved the 2 office ladies and the 2 male mechanics all lied they ganged up on me a literally tried to verbally force me to pay belittle me infront of other customers and my family member and they completely robbed me both financially and customer rights wise, i don't care what their problem is but no one deserves that kind of treatment and to be talked down to and mistreated so that they can cover their own butts on how dishonest they really are, this is suppose to be a "christian owned business" and come to find out they are dishonest crooks posing as "christian mechanics"it seems they thought because i appear to be poor and have no choice they could just take me for a ride, and rich or poor this a very very very bad business practices on their part, and no one should ever experience this kind of disrespectful treatment from any business, i would appreciate it if you could scoot this along to whatever legal department/lawyers/channels/or organizations that can help a poor black man like me keep some dignity in this situation...
