I was replying to an online ad to start making money online with auctions. Cole Austin was the first person I listened to, on the phone. He was asking me questions about, how much Time I could spend on my business, how they were going to teach me everything I needed to
know to make my business profitable, the INVESTMENT I needed, what kind of DECISION MAKER I was, and last but not least, was I ready to make a 100% COMMITMENT to my business? Oh yeah, we would be using OPM, {other peoples money}
Next Mr. Josh Robinson called me. He went over basically what Cole had told me, but added more. Like how MUCH I'd be investing, [$15,000]which was conservative, and how they were going to walk me thru it hand in hand, so I could pay off the $15,000 in 30 -90 days. The biggest part of the money would be going for the software that would handle all the business transactions for me. It was called 'THRIVE SOFTWARE'
Josh talked to me about where I was getting the money from. Credit cards, debit cards, and I told him I had 1 credit card, and a home equity line of credit. He asked me what my credit limit was on my card, and I said, '$5,000, '. Then he asked me how much I had in equity, I said, ' $40,000.' So he figured up that they could take $4000. Out of my credit card acc. And $11,000. Out of my equity. I didn't have a credit card for my home equity acc. But I did have checks.
I was to run out to the post office, write an $11,000. Check, and send it to him, [via the address he gave me] get it certified with a tracking #, then run back home and call him with the tracking #. He kept asking me if I knew anything about using the internet and starting
a business online,, and I kept saying I didn't know beans from apple butter about it. Which is true, I don't know.
He switched me back to Cole who told me to call the IRS, and give them codes which they would send me forms to fill out for tax purposes. Then to start thinking of a name for my business. Then heswitched me back to Josh. Josh told me there was a HOSTING FEE I'd have to pay monthly, but he was going to waive the first 2 mo., of
$39.95. After I had done all this running and getting a card for my equity acc., I was to write a COMMITMENT LETTER, about my goals, the time frame in which I was going to accomplish all this, and send it to him.
After we hung up, I started thinking about how much money they were wanting. THAT much money deserved to be checked out. So I spent the rest of the day calling my credit card and disputing the charge, and started checking around. Thats when I found the consumer complaintsS.
So, they didn't actually get anything from me yet, but I wanted to warn other people about them. So hopefully you rread this before losing the money
