These companies began to charge us after a legitimate dietary supplement order was placed. Our debit information was then obviously sold/provided to these companies and was not authorized to do so

Our situation start with the legitimate purchase of a dietary supplement via an online company. After a trial of the supplement, we opted to cancel the subscription, only to find out that we were continuing to be billed. A call was made to the company and, ultimately, they cancelled the subscription and refunded a portion of our money. Later on, after reviewing our online bank statements, we noticed that another company that we did not recognize was billing us for an unauthorized purchase. It was the exact same amount every month. Thankfully, in the posting within the bank statement, a phone number was also provided. We called the company and inquired about how they obtained our debit information. The person taking the call stated that we must have checked some sort of pop-up menu along the way and that authorized the purchases. We adamantly denied having done so and immediately demanded a refund and cancellation of their service. They told us that they would have a member of their corporate office call us and you can imagine that they never did. It seems that as time went on, a different company name would appear on our bank statements indicating that the companies were either changing hands or were fraudulous to begin with. We finally made a call to our bank and had the debit card cancelled and provided all of our information to the bank's fraud department. Thankfully, they provided us with a portion of our money refunded back to us while they investigated our claim. I highly encourage any one experiencing anything similar to this to call their bank immediately and cancel the debit card your used to make the initial purchase and have them send you a new one. Don't forget to make a fraud claim as well so these companies don't have the opportunity to keep doing this to people.
