An ad for a rental property was posted on Craigslist with the following title:
$1000 2BDR Townhouse for RENT (Hampton Woods)?
I sent an email to the ad's email address requesting for more information on the rental property. I received the following response from Nicole Allen at [email protected]:
Hello Raymond. Please go to www.eRentalApplications.com to fill out a basic rentalapplication to check tenant history, references, and verifyemployment. Your social security is NOT REQUIRED and YOUR CREDIT WILLNOT BE PULLED at this time. After the application will be reviewed youwill be contacted to set up time to see the property. The process issimple. Just use the following steps and within minutes yourapplication will be forwarded for review. Go to www.eRentalApplications.com and follow these steps: 1. On the homepage click on the APPLY TODAY button2. Find the property address (for which you will be applying) 3. Fill out the application4. Pending approval you will be contacted regarding your applicationas soon as possible Thanks.
After some quick research on Google, I found out that this was a scam so I simply want to report this scam for the state of VA.
