I signed up with Direct Tv 2 years ago at my old Apartment. I had ordered a DVR Box for the living room and a standard box for the bedroom. My bill for a long time was in the 46-55 dollar range. After a year I gradually saw my bill increase and tried to get my bill down to the same rate as I had received before. Of course that wasn't gonna happen. Financial times got hard and had to move back in with the parents and suspend my directtv which costed me a few pennies to say the least. After things got better, I moved out once again to a new apartment.install was fine and everything worked (except for the 30 bucks they charged me for 2 huge C Clamps for "custom install") After all that my bill was constantly 98 bucks a month where my Boss was only paying 46 a month with 3 receivers, HD, no premium channels and DVR service. I literally compared my bill to his and it was so much bs. Anyway after I had to move once again, this time work related reasons, since it was less than a year prior, they were gonna charge me 75 bucks for the install which would be tacked to my bill, and I would get the 3 premiums for free for 3 months (whatever I guess). After I decided that week that i wanted to upgrade my TV for a flat panel HDTV, I figured maybe I could call up and score a good deal since I found out online that i was out of my contract so the ball was in my court. Ha even the customer service reps likes opps I shouldn't of even said that. Well anyway, I want to get the best deal that I could. HD, DVR, at least HBO and whatever amount of channels, Im not too much of a TV watcher. So I was told I was gonna have to pay for the HD box which was 200 bucks but they would give me a 50 dollar credit, ohhhh boy, and still charge me 150, plus my new install would be 75 bucks and my bill really would stay about the same except they would charge me another 10 bucks a month for HD, but free for 6 months but I would have to sign another 2 year deal. Ohh hell no. I found out that AT&T UVerse is in the area and I could bundle everything. Im getting the U200 package with HD and DVR, 2 receivers, HBO, internet, all for about 100 bucks. Plus I have AT&T for my Iphone so why not bundle that all together. So far I get the service installed tomarrow so we shall see whats the deal when its all hooked up.
