If you are an AT&T Customer and haven't subscribed to their $7.50 per Month in home wiring plan you will be billed $85.00 if you call repair service even if the trouble is on their line, this happened to me today!
I was told by their rude customer service rep. That I would now know better than to ever call them again.
In my opinion they are defrauding people by coming to their home and telling them that it is their line inside that is causing the trouble, in my case the noise had been fixed by the line crew before anyone came, I had already found that the noise had cleared up and left home only to find a note on my door when I returned that I would be charged for the service call because the trouble was inside my home.
When I called them back I had to wait 45 minutes to be insulted by a rude customer service representative.
