Beware!!! I received a "sweet" proposition through the mail as I'm sure so did many others. It mentioned that I had 36 hours to reply. Sure. Did you read between the lines? You get to pay them about $60.00 and they'll send you info on how to get a grant from the government - guaranteed, or your money back. Sure. Do you really know anyone who has received "free money" from the government?
Grant writing is NOT as simple as it sounds. It takes a lot of effort, and many trials and tribulations to even get those guys to read ANY proposals, otherwise everyone would be doing it and getting money for free. They have thousands of requests - per month - because folks need money desperately in these economic times. Most of the requests are from the poor souls that have paid some group for a book or software that is supposedly based upon valuable information for writing grant proposals.
You can find just as much info on the web (as did the "Institute"), but for the most part it is just a waste of time. Stay away from the "private sector" - such as the "G"overnment "F"unds Institute, or any that show up on the infomercials, when it comes to requesting a grant from the governent. That's a waste of money. Contact your local township or state officials for any help or advice that you would like to have. Also, never trust any organization that doesn't provide a "customer service" contact address or phone number, or any that do provide one and all you hear is a "pitch" - either personal or recorded.
