These people have me so stressed out. We are losing our rental property because of them. They have frustrated me for months to the point of tears. The actual attorneys won't call us back. You have to call an 800 number and talk to someone who knows nothing. I have been laughed at because of my amount of debt, I was laughed at because I have been in tears after being on hold for an hour. When I finally told one operator I was thinking of sueing them He told me "good luck with that" and then laughed at me. I asked them why my attorney would not call me back about the issue I was told that the attorney was tired of dealing with me about the issue because they had already talked to me multiple times about it and were tired of dealing with me. THE ATTORNEY HAD NEVER TALKED TO ME AT ALL about it ever because they would not call me back. The issue was they screwed up filings at our court hearing where we made arrangements to catch up payments on our mortagages.
When we went to court that day we stood outside the courtroom waiting for our attorney for an hour and a half after driving there which took two hours in itself. I was in tears by then and finally found a local phone number. They finally did answer and I guess they texted someone and they found my husband inside the courtroom. When they came and talked to us it was some women we had never met before. She only fills in I guess when the actual attorneys can't make it (even though by now we are into them for over $4000.00). We had only received info that we were there for a certain property we owned (we have two). She told us what we were making arrangements for and we agreed. She only told us about one property. Found out later this cost us $800.00 just to do this. I try to make the payment and the mortgage company tells us it is different than what I have. Takes me a month or two to get a response.
Finally I have to make an appointment to go there which takes two hours one way. We go wait forever, We find out that payment arrangements had been made on both houses but we didn't know and one had not been filed like it was supposed to be. They had filed it but it was after I had called and called and called-two months after I was supposed to have been doing the arrangements so we were now three months further behind. The lawyer told us not to worry as long as we were not behind in the payments to the trustee we would not lose our rental and to go ahead and not pay till we went back to court just concentrate on our residence which we did. We also told him that we were spending money on our rental so that the tenants would pay their own utilities because paying their heat bills was what got us behind everytime. We let him know that that would give us more income instead of being in the hole. He said that was good.
Next thing I know I get papers a couple of months later saying that property was kicked out of the 13 because it didn't make enough income. We had never got papers to go back to court. I don't know if they made background decisions behind the scenes but I know he did not tell the trustee about how we had made the changes in the house so it would produce income. I tried for two months to contact the attorney but they never called us back. I gave up. The sherriffs sale was set, it was supposed to be two weeks ago. The mortagage co. Stopped it. Can't find out why. We would like to keep it and it should never have been dropped from the 13 So I have been trying to get hold of the attorney again (week and a half now) can't get a response. I even finally talked to a supervisor who apologized and promised our attorney would get back with us. Still no response.
We are now paying the electrician for the work he did because whether we get to keep the property or not we owe him. We are seeing another attorney which we have to pay who knows what to take over the bankruptcy because dealing with Macey & Aleman is really stressful and is going to cause me to have a nervous breakdown. Just trying to get through to someone or talking to the operators is frustrating and they make me cry or make me angry and they don't even care. I wish I could sue them just for pain and suffering. Everyone on here needs to report them to the BBB. I read one rebuttal from the attorney's here in Indianapolis that says they only have two reports to the BBB. (Now they have three because I just did it too). But there are so many complaints here. I wish I had read this site first before I ever dealt with them. That's the other thing too.
I had no idea I was getting involved with a multi state firm. I thought I was calling a local attorney in Indianapolis. I did not know what I had gotten into until we had given them $1200 and tried to actually contact them for the first time after the appointment.By then they had our money and we were screwed. If I had found this site and saw the complaints I would never have went with them.
