Almost two years ago I contacted the

Macey and Aleman law firm about bankruptcy. I had lost my job and

Was unable to pay my debts. I was in Indiana at the time and met with the attorney who

Advised me to stop making mortgage payments so that I could pay their fees and

Get the bankruptcy started. I paid over $1100.00 to the firm and in the

Interim, my wife received a job offer here in Florida. I contacted the attorney and was advised my

Case could be transferred to their office in Florida.

Over six months after moving I

Contacted them to ask about my case. I spoke on the phone with a "paralegal"

Who told me my case was in the Orlando office and was "in typing". After several

Months I still had not heard from them. I called again and another "paralegal"

Told me that my file was never received in Orlando. They promised they would

Track it down. They later called back and said it was again "in typing".

I made several calls and told them some things had changed and I needed to

Speak to an attorney but was told the paralegal could answer my questions. I

Finally insisted on speaking to an attorney but missed her call. When I tried

To call back, I again was stuck with a paralegal who would not connect me with

The attorney and stated he would pass the message along.

After a while, I requested a refund of my fees so I could hire a local

Attorney to assist me. I received a call and letter from another "paralegal"

Who promised it would be corrected and I would hear from them soon. I was also

Told I would meet with an attorney before the filing of my case. Some time

Later I received a packet from them requesting I sign all the documents and send

Them the filing fee so they could proceed with the case. I again called and

Asked when I could speak with an attorney but got no response.

A month ago, I sent the packet back

With the signatures but without the fee and demanded I speak to an attorney or

Be refunded my fees. I have had no response. Subsequent research on the

Internet shows that this firm has an extensive history of complaints similar to

Mine with no return of fees. I fear that due to their incompetence I

May be saddled with almost $100,000 in debt and no recourse. (my home in

Indiana has been foreclosed)
