I received a call today from a private number on my cell during work. After listening to my voicemail which was extremely difficult to understand because of the strong accent. Calvin Daniels/Davies left me a message stating notto ignore his call and it should be returned immediately from me or my attorney. He said if he doesn't hear from me all he could do was wish me luck.
I returned the call to 410-713-4846. He began asking how I was going to take care of a loan I didn't repay from Cashnet. I explained to him that I never had a loan deposited from Cashnet and did not owe anything. He then proceed to rattle of family names, my last four of my social, my address and stated I was being sued. I asked for what and he said don't you know I said this the 1st. He said theft, fraud, and violation of federal banking regulations. I said hold on by who he said cashnet. I asked who he worked for and he kept replying a legal company. I said this is a hoax, he stated won't be a hoax when we make an example out of you tomorrow in court.
He then read an affidavat to me which I could not understand because of his accent. I asked if he could tell me the date I borrowed and he said he didn't have access to that it is a loan from 2008. I asked how much he couldn't give that info either. He said wait you borrowed 300 and i said this was deposited into my account and he said yes and that they tried to take money from my account but it was rejected. I kept reinforcing that I never received a call and he said I have 60 emails we sent out to you and this is the email.
He then said if I give him 950 he could stop the downloading and keep me out of court. I said what court he said you are being taken to court at 11 am and your work will get the call tomorrow. IF i pay the 950 in the next 30 minutes I will not go to court and charges will be dropped. But if not I can deal with the other info in court at 11 am and the legal company and sheriff will pick me up at my legal residence. I would have to pay 5484.87 at court to be released.
I called my bank and to no avail no ach deposits and then called the sheriff and they said to check my credit sounds like a hoax. I called back within the 30 minutes and explained my findings and he said you want to play this game I can no longer help you good luck to you. I asked for info to be faxed he said impossible, He said I can give you a case number call the monetary crime division in los angeles california @ 408-355-9951.
I told him i reversed looked up his number and he was a cell phone in maryland. He replied headquarters are in CA call there and I would be sorry tommorrow in court. I called the division and they said they were the collection agency for cashnet then the law firm of monetary crime. They answered hello and were hesititain to answer who they were eventually hanging up on me. I called Calvin back and said I received nothing in mail or telephone this is a hoax you should be able to give me the info. He said you will when the company picks you up tomorrow. I explained I know the law and that doesn't happen he said guess we will see tomorrow.
The ironic thing is he said he could not help me and then 6 hours later at 8 pm called with the same scenario. I said hey Cal you called me at 2 today and he said he never. I told him he needed to check his phone and i read all info he gave me... Asked again what court I was suppose to show at he never gave a name... Nor a city just the courthouse in Ohio. He said you cannot do anything to me you will be arrested tomorrow!
This is very scary. I feel bad for those who give the info out to these idiots!
Isn't there a way to stop them? Any ideas?
