Received harassing threatening phone call from "Jack Adams" with thick foreign accent. Says I owe a loan and that I was given a loan that was not paid back (because when they tried to debit my account it was rejected). Told this guy he was crazy. He said he needed the name of my attorney and that someone from the sheriff's office in my town would pick me up tomorrow because they were downloading my case today. Says I was a prime suspect for check fraud/theft by deception. Asked him the name of his company and he said "Monetary Crime Division", said he was with a law firm that had the address of 201 Anaheim of Anaheim, California 94547. Said his callback number was 213-550-4189 but when I saw it on my caller id it was 334 450 0011. Told him that I didn't owe any loans and to go ahead and file what he had to file.
Very suspicious as he wouldn't give me the number of the company he represented other than to say the name was cashnet. Bogus joke. Didn't even get to a part where he was going to ask me to send money because I kept telling him this was a scam and not to call me again.
