So here it was about 8:45 at night. Dark outside and I had my front door open and I hear this "hello" at my door. I go to it and some girl starts talking all fast about she is trying to earn this trip to England or something and has to sell these magazines to do so. So I start questioning.
I ask is it for school and she gets nervous and says well I would be lying if I said it was for school. So anyway I kept asking what it was for and she just kept avoiding the answer. Then she wanted to fill out the receipt in my house. Which I was dumb to do and like one other peson said on here - "Be rude, it's your house and safety at risk." Which is so true! Anyway she seemed sweet and said she was about 17 years old. I was interested until she wouldn't answer my question and just kept pushing the sale. I've done door to door sales so I know the signs. She kept asking me about my son. Only because when she came up I was holding his sippy cup. Anyway she said she had talked to my neighbors and yada yada yada.
I ask if she can come back tomorrow and of course no it's got to be tonight and cash is preferred. Then she tells me about some other contest scam she was involved in and quit when she found out but this wasn't a scam and proudly showed me the name. Eventually I just tell her that I will talk to my husband. I of course google the name and well here I sit. So Independence, MO beware! They are out there but they didn't get me and don't let them get you!
