Niko-Laos a so called company lead by two so called "professionals". Professionals, alright, but "professionals" in lying, misleading, and conning people who are in search for legit work. The so called company Mr. Eddie Sardinha, and Ms. Lisa Walberg created as a tool to lure honest, humble, hardworking individuals who are in need of work (more then ever now with this economy) with lies, dishonesty, and a bogus interview process for those individuals, such as my self searching for employment, with an organization that would offer and provide an opportunity to earn an honest living.
The nightmare began with a phone call I received by an overly excited, and friendly person by the name of Jaimie, who introduced her self as the Human Resources Representative for Niko-Laos. Jamie informed me they had received my resume and application for a Management position, and based on my experience and expertise in the Corporate world, I met the qualifications to apply for an "Account Managing" position. I advised Jamie, I was out of state, but would be willing to fly to Florida (across the country from where I was at, at the moment of her phone call) for an interview. Jamie, again, sounded super excited and informed me I was scheduled for the following Monday to Interview with Mr. Eddie Sardinha, and urged me to contact her ASAP once I had arrived to verify the interview as soon as possible with the organization's top "executive" Mr. Eddie Sardinha. I logged on to their website www.niko-laos.com in search to verify the information Jamie had provided me with over the phone. Once on the www.niko-laos.com site on the Home Page you see a picture of Mr. Eddie Sardinha and Ms. Lisa Walberg both with a quick and short bio of themselves. Mr. Sardinha is made out to look like a former Pro Baseball player, turned into a businessman.in reality, is more of a former jock, turned into a con-man.
It is now obvious to me that all the name dropping of the games big timers such as Barry Bonds, Wade Boggs, Ozzie Guillen, who supposedly Mr. Sardinha shared the field with, was also a very cheap tool used to impress REAL PROFESSIONALS in the Corporate world, as my self, who have started from the bottom and with hard work have earned opportunities to advance in ligit corporations/organizations without having to lie to others to earn an honest living. On the day of my interview I arrived at a corporate building, which by the looks it presents niko-laos as a legit business, however; I now have been informed suite number 425 was rented for a "business" and is not a corporation ran in the building.
To my surprise the person by the name of Jamie, who over the phone introduced her self as the Human Resources Representative, was also the front office receptionist, and the interviewer, because Mr. Sardinha had a last minute "emergency" and could make it to the interview. After a 30 minute interview, during which I provided Jamie with another copy of my resume, I was told my interview went excellent, and she was very impressed with my resume, my background in the business/corporate world, and that I would be a great fit for the Account Managing position.
During the first contact I had with Jamie I asked specific questions, such as: If niko-laos was a telemarketing company? Jamie said NO. She stated they were a legit Marketing Firm. Lie. I also asked Jamie, if the position was commission based? She told me NO. Another LIE. She told me the account managing position was Salary, not hourly, nor commission based. I asked Jamie what the job entitled, responsibilities, etc. She told me as an Account Manager I would be dealing with multiple account executives for various Fortune 500 companies, such as AT&T, UPS, BellSouth, etc. And handling their marketing product accounts one-on-one, face to face. Another LIE. All these same questions I asked during the interview I had with Jamie. At the end of the interview she advised she was very impressed with the interview, resume, etc. And asked me if I were up to go back to a second interview with one of the "top account executives" the following day. Of course! I said.
I showed up to the second interview, and to do you know, again, surprise, surprise. No interview with a "top account executive" but rather I was assigned to go on the field with a representative, and my second interview would be at the end of the day. I was fooled into believing I would be joining a legit corporation, and as an Account Manager I'd have to go to the other Corporations and review the company's accounts, audit errors, and make sure their accounts were being handled properly.in reality it was the complete opposite, and what I was fooled into doing was spending money on a plane ticket, money on a car rental, and 2 days wasted with other people who have also been trained to fool, lie, and also take part in such cheap scam.
The reality of the job was to go out on the "field" meaning, you were assigned an area, that Niko-Laos knew AT&T, UPS, Bellshouth, etc. Had business with, and go into every single shop, bar, business, and lie to the business owner into thinking they had better offers and discounts and have them change their current plan.in reality I was assigned to shadow a person who was going door to door, business to business, many which we were kicked out of, yelled at, and humiliated, because the person who stated was representing a company, that in reality is working for Niko-Laos doing Tele-Marketing, solicitation going door to door on foot, into pressuring people to changing whatever plan, or contract they had with another legit company.
I find this very disturbing, and I'm beyond disappointed to see how there is people out there out to scam money, or hours of work from honest hard working people, to make their so called business - meaning SCAM - grow. I saw it on the news with people being scammed by foreclosures, businesses on the web, yet I never thought in a million years I would be, 1. A person who would be fooled at such length, and 2. Made such an effort, and investment on a plain ticket, on a car rental, etc. All for a job that now I see sounded too good to be true. BE AWARE!!! Niko-Laos is a FAKE, and professionals on misleading people that are in search for employment, and pray on professionals with excellent resumes, and background, as well as people who might not have experience in the corporate world. Again, be WARE. NIKO-LAOS IS A SCAM!!!
