In September we legally contracted to purchase a house from Costa Rica Limited in Esterillos Oeste, Costa Rica. Per the contract we paid the first 3 deposits totalling $94,000, the house construction was to begin in January but was delayed (no explanation given). We went to Costa Rica in June to find out what was going on and were told the house would begin construction in July. (wasn't)
In September we requested the status of our home, we were told that the house would not fit on the lot. We went back and forth trying to come to some agreement about another house but to no avail. We were promised our money returned, with interest.
To date we are still owed the bulk of our money, Costa Rica Limited has no intention of returning our money. We haven't heard from them in months, we have attempted legal proceedings and mediation but to no avail. Costa Rica Limited sold our lot and built a house for another party. These people have treated us very badly and we are now out alot of money.
