F. P Marketing Inc
Creepy

Like many others, I posted my resume on Careerbuilder.com. Not 24 hours after posting my resume, I recieved a call from a girl from F.P. Marketing in Charlotte, NC asking to schedule an interview today. As a recent college graduate, I was excited to get an interview and have the prospect of getting a job, given the cruddy current economy. This excitement made me somewhat ignore the fact that the job I was going in for had little to do with my area of study in college.
I arrived at the office (located in the upscale neighborhood South Park), where the secretary was listening to loud Jam Band music, which seemed a bit inappropriate for a workplace.in the waiting area, there were several magazines (Vanity Fair, Vogue, Glamour) all of which seemed inappropriate for a workplace. I waited for my name to be called to be interviewed, and listened to the secretary drone on about her brother and her wedding, all of which was way too much information. After waiting 40 minutes, I met with Sean, who was my interviewer. We discussed several different things (Boston, sports, hobbies, what I've been doing since graduation); however, we didn't discuss my Major, my previous work experience, or Marketing. He also managed to get a jab in at my sorority (which was extremely rude). He spent a good amount of time discussing how everyone at the office hangs out together after work, and even have a kickball team that plays every weekend. He eventually explained that the job would be representing small business owners/clients that use AT&T. This struck me as a bit odd. AT&T is a major company, and it seems a bit odd to be giving a kid fresh out of college with no experience in this field a client that big. He explained that they would be calling people back later in the afternoon, if they meet requirements and will be offered second full day interviews.
I called my mom, excited that the interview went well (minus the sorority insult), and that I seemed to be a candidate for a callback. She asked me what the company's name was so she could checkout their website. Upon googling them, she noticed they didn't have a website (seriously, what legit company doesn't have a website these days? Especially a marketing company?). She did, however, find usacomplaints.com. And, boy, am I glad she did. As she was reading me some of the horrible things mentioned on this website (and some of the interviews that sounded oddly like my experience), I recieved a call from the secretary saying I was invited back tomorrow for an all day interview, so I could interview with the client. I politely thanked her for the offer, but declined. I'm glad I checked out this website before wasting an entire day with these creeps tomorrow.
